Lot of work turned out well....The Tommy Hemi Memorial event

My brother Tom passed away suddenly back in January and I wanted to put a memorial together about him and his 1970 Hemicuda we both enjoyed
back in 1970-73. He put the car in storage back in late 73 and it just sat until 2003 when he wanted to get it running again. However a back injury sidelined that project since that time. After moving into a smaller home with nice shop the plan was to continue and get this pristine 10,000 mile Hemicuda up and running again. However that ended when he passed away in January 2025.
So I have been putting this project together to have an event with friends and family for the last 2 months. I assembled a display 426 Hemi using a full sized plastic mock up block and used the bolt on parts we ran back in the 1972 period. All the parts you see a Chrysler Super/Stock Hemi items like the 1965 magnesium cross ram with correct Holley 770 carbs and matching race distributor. Headers the exact pair we had on the car and I made a replica of the Sox and Martin aluminum race oil pan with external pick up since a friend bought the original as a memory piece from Tom's son who now owns the car. Wanted this thing to look and run like the real deal and added a killer sound system of a Hemi running.
Also made up an exact diecast copy of how the Hemicuda was as we ran it on the street and track back in 1972. It took 3 diecast cars I had to make the 1:18 scale model plus hours of painting and making some parts.

Beautiful! About a 8 sec car? I had a '69 Hemi Super Bee. Loved that car. I ran 'B' Stock in the low 12's at the Memphis track with street rubber. I recall the factory made a few hundred 9sec HemiCuda's back then.

Well this was a stock 1970 Hemicuda and then later we built it into Race Hemi specs with all the goodies! The Hemi is now owned by his son and it is sitting at a very well known Chrysler restoration shop waiting to be put back together in stock condition. It only has 10,000 miles on it and here is how it sits today.
