If you enjoy war movies............

Post by GunnyGene » Thu Apr 10, 2025 3:05 pm

I'd recommend SISU (released 2023), currently playing on ROKU. Watched it yesterday, and really enjoyed it. There's no irrelevant dialog explaining why someone is doing something, just superb acting.

Trailer:

When an ex-soldier who discovers gold in the Lapland wilderness tries to take the loot into the city, Nazi soldiers led by a brutal SS officer battle him.

Bellum Omnium Contra Omnes is rapidly becoming a reality (11/2023). Para Bellum.

I watched one of the trailers. Pretty gory. I don't have Roku, but I could rent it on Amazon Prime. For now, I'll pass.

I watched part of the trailer for it last night and didn’t get very far before I added it to my watchlist. I’ll give it a spin one evening soon.

Well, I watched it last night. Some good scenes, but it’s a bit more fantasy than a war movie. It was a bit much at times, but then the DC-3 scene put it over the top for me;)

Agreed, you do need to suspend your belief in reality for a few parts, but it's a good story, and I enjoyed it.

Funny how I can watch something like this and look past such blatant fantasy, but other shows make the slightest flaw with a technical detail, and I'm out. It's like a James Bond movie, sometimes you just go with it.

I don't care for fantasy in movies, never cared for the sci-fi, don't like the AI crap either.
The Matrix and such stuff just does nothing for me.
Guess that's why I don't watch much anymore as most is to far fetched, plus I don't hear well enough.
