Great night to get the beast telescope out!
Had a guy come by today to help me get the Meade 16 inch Telescope mirrors aligned up and tonight was perfect calm and clear sky for the first viewing of the Moon. Man what a view of the jagged crater walls and the shadows inside the craters! I was using a 24mm to 8mm zoom lens and tried my best to hold my iPad up to the eye piece. There are several type fixtures I can get to mount the camera to the scope for better pictures. The view is much much better in person!

I have the same problem.
The moon was really sharp in person.
Sometimes I get lucky taking a sharp picture even though this isn’t as sharp as in person. The tower on Timms Hill is almost a mile away.
I bought the attachment for it that takes great pictures but it’s not as good for in-person viewing so I took it off.

Amazing shots guys. I moved around too much to invest in a really good setup. Other hobbies take up my time and funds now. I admire the dedication of those of you that seriously pursue the stars.
I remember a post years ago, the computer tracking of a distant object allowed for a crisp clear timed exposure.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Good job, forty. Get that "beast" out on the next moonless night and you'll even be more amazed.
