Settling brother's estate

So my brother's son is up from Florida for another couple weeks to get things moved out his house and get it ready for sale. A shame since he had only enjoyed the new place for 3 months before his sudden death. His son is now owner of the 1970 Hemicuda and we have moved it to a well known Hemi restoration shop that happens to be local. I have known the owner since the 80's and of course he knows the car. There will be no charge to store the Cuda and all the parts and then the assembly process will begin along with getting the Hemi rebuilt which is done in house. Son wants to enjoy the car for a while and then possibly put it up for sale. This is a 10,000 mile one owner survivor car that needs no restoring just bolting on the stock parts which are there and getting the Hemi back to stock setup. Great to have all the matching hard parts!
Then what to do with all his furniture and personal items. I got his recent pinball machine purchase since none of them wanted it and found room in my living room for it right next to mine his being the Williams Solids and Stripes on the right...a cool game to play based on a pool table theme. Looks great sitting there and now have a nice game corner and will play in his memory.

My brother was the family electronics guru and was a great help when figuring out issues with all electronic and now that help and knowledge is gone and will be missed. Will also miss those 1-2 hour tech calls we would have about most anything. Life goes on.

Growing up I didn't want my little brother always tagging along behind me. He bugged me.
Then when we started driving tractor trailers together we bonded somehow. I got out of it,
he stayed driving even after my Father sold his company. Dave bought his own rigs and continued.
He got liver cancer in 2001 and died in 2003. I helped him die. I took him to all his chemo and Dr.
appointments myself. We knew from day one he wouldn't survive. His wife proceeded him in
death in 2000. I had to sell his trucks and house. The health care took all the money. I didn't care.

I miss him. I wish I could call him on the phone. I wish we could drink coffee together. Tell big
stories.............................

Going over there again Friday to start sorting out parts of the Hemicuda into containers and then to the shop where the car is at. Will see how this all shakes out over time. What other things he is taking will be loaded in a UHaul trailer and other things shared with family.

I know how you feel. One of my brothers passed suddenly before Thanksgiving. I had just purchased a fish camp 2 months prior to his death. He never got to enjoy it. His kids weren't interested in it,but fortunately I had a friend that was.

When my mom died I was her executor. I was not the oldest, my sister was. She was not happy. Mom's will was very specific and I followed it exactly. Her house went to my youngest sibling, a gay male who took care of her, in the house, for the last three years of her life along with his partner of 22 years.That did not go down well with my other brother and sisters. Hard feelings lasted for quite awhile. I would not wish for anyone to be put in that position. Although, you seem to doing fine.
