Sad news...

My brother passed away early Tuesday morning after suffering an attack of Covid. I had just talked to him on the phone Saturday afternoon and he sounded okay but he had some congestion and said he felt like he was coming down with something. Monday morning at 6:15 the phone wakes me up and it is an IC nurse at local hospital saying she was contacting any family because his condition was grave. They were searching his recent contacts on his phone. Thinking it was a bad dream being half awake I ask her to repeat and then I hung up and called his daughter who lives nearby.
When we got to the hospital we were told he had a 102 temp and fluid in his lungs and then his heart stopped as soon as they got him in a room.
They worked on him for 45 minutes trying to get a stable heart beat and then was placed on a ventilator and full of meds to keep him alive but in a coma. He never recovered from loss of oxygen to his brain and passed away early morning Tuesday.
He was in his mid 70's and did have some health issues and the Covid just zeroed in on those and took him away quick. Just a sudden and sad shock to have this happen. Maybe had he went to a doctor when he had symptoms and a low grade fever he could have survived before it took him over may have helped. Such a loss for us. He has now joined his wife who passed away about 5 years ago.
