Put together a makeshift slide holder to copy them with my camera. Thought I might post a few. I'll look through tomorrow and perhaps post a few more.

This was a couple of years back. Yes, that's me checking the loading struts on a C-141. The mustache phase was mercifully short.

Here are a few more. I feel like I have come a long way in my photography in the last few years. These are of interest mainly due to being around 45 years old.

Anyone guess where I shot this guy? Hint, it's not south Florida.


I rather like this image. I really like the Seat parked on the cay. I'm pretty sure it's a Seat.


This was shot in a mission in the wine country of California back in the late 70s.


This was taken at an air show in Omaha. Late 70s, early 80s.

Nope. You are close.

Love the pics, I'll have to dig through my old pics. Amazing how serving in the military lets us go places and see things most only dream of. Great pics, mine won't be near as good.

BOM, I'm sure you've been to many of the places depicted in these slides and some of the others I have. I wish I had the equipment and experience back then that I do now. Of course, some of the images have degraded somewhat over the last 45 years or so.

Dad got me VIP seats at the Air Show in Hawaii... I was in good company. Guess what show was really popular.


HE didn't arrive in a limo.


Wasn't the only attraction...


The stunt pilot had an awesome assistant.


He knew how to make the bi-plane strut it's stuff.


But the Blues did some nice flying as well, and I got lucky with my cheap camera.

There is a documentary on The Blue Angels on Prime ( I believe) that is pretty damn good!

My dad was in the Navy during the early 1950s. He was an electrician's mate on carriers, and has a ton of slides from both a Med cruise, and another to Japan. I remember him setting up the screen in the living room and showing his slides when I was a kid growing up. It seems that slides were the way to go back then. He had a few stories from those days.....actually had a bunch I'm sure, but we were kids and this was family, so not all the stories were shared. He's 94 now and I am going to ask him if he'd set that stuff up and do another little presentation for us.

And on another note, seeing the airshow pics, makes me remember one they have every year in late August at the Sussex County Airport in northwestern NJ. It's a small, single strip airport, and lots of fly-ins before they shut down the airport for the show. Went to that for years. At the end of the show, when they were opening the strip back up for general use, there was an announcer that would stay on the PA system and give a little blurb about every single aircraft that was turning onto the runway and taking off. At first you almost wouldn't even notice him talking, but after a while, that part became one of my favorite parts of the show. That guy knew every single airplane and had a couple interesting facts to share about every one. We'd stay long after the show just to listen to him give his little send-off for every one.
