I've been called a "gun nut" more than once, but it's not like I'm just hog wild about anything with a lock, stock and barrel. For instance, I don't own a single "black gun" and have no desire to. They certainly have their uses, but I prefer to spend my discretionary income on traditional sporting arms. I've also owned upwards of 50 shotguns over the course of my lifetime, but no auto-loaders. Other than their almost non-existent recoil, I don't really like anything about them.

I love lever-action rifles, revolvers and two kinds of shotguns (double-barrel and pump). I have some other types (a couple of bolt-action rifles, two Ruger 10/.22s, a semi-auto pistol for concealed carry, etc.), but I'm not really interested in buying anything else that doesn't fall into one of my Big 4 categories.

How about you folks?

Revolvers I like. Lever action rifles like. Pump shotguns are nice. The others, I can take or leave.

I like nice wood and classic lines. Lever guns and single shots are my personal preference, although I have a couple of semi auto rifles and pistols. My edc is a Glock, and has been for many years. I have owned ARs, but they aren’t my preferred weapon. I shot enough “real “ assault rifles while wearing a green uniform to scratch any itch I might have had for that type of weapon.
Does what I like to shoot make me a Fudd in some people’s eyes? If so, I have been called worse.

I own a variety of firearms, but my passion is traditional lever guns and single-action revolvers.

I don't own anything but. Maybe not the best "go to" guns, but will get the job done.

I started shooting and reloading 11 years ago, late in life (I'm 73) and since then I've purchased two Henry Lever Action rifles, two Uberti SAA revolvers, and a Colt King Cobra Carry.

I did inherit three guns from my father-in-law, which I still own; a Ranger Bolt Action single shot 22LR rifle that he owned as teen, a Colt 38 special Official Police revolver that he was given by a retiring policeman in our hometown, and a Colt 1908 25 ACP semi-automatic pocket pistol that his father bought new in 1916. I've fired each of them, but rarely.

I have no interest in owning any other firearms, and certainly no semi-autos.

Passion is Smith and Wesson revolvers. And most anything that goes band.........Wish i owned some.........

As a Former Marine and Former LEO, I have had plenty of experience with a wide range of firearms. I shot high power matches in the Corps, as well as Handgun Matches and some shotgun, like skeet and sporting clays. I shot Police Pistol and Glock Matches after I got out. My focus has been mostly handgun, but I do shoot rifles and shotguns. Although I don't shoot black powder, I do own a couple BP wall hangers as well as I like the looks. I'm fond of all handguns, but Single Actions are a favorite. I do like my Henry Rifles for fun, but the workhorse guns for Varmint Control are both Bolt Actions.

The old in old school describes both my age and the guns I shoot. Yeah, guess that makes me a a Fud or maybe a Fud-ette.

Over my lifetime of shooting, I've owned and shot nearly every type of gun at one time or other, but the types of guns that most influenced me at the start of my shooting career are the types of guns I mostly shoot now at the close of my shooting career. My shooting time is too valuable now to waste on anything else.

I did a lot of wing shooting back in the day, but I was always a rifle and handgun shooter at heart.

Over the years I did collect and shoot lever guns and enjoyed them, but bolt guns and single shots have been a far greater influence on me and I blame the bolt guns, specifically, for making me the accuracy nut I've always been. Oh, lever guns and pump guns and autoloaders are fun to shoot and make good plinkers, but drooling over tiny groups, match triggers and fast lock times is still bolt gun territory for me all these decades later.

As for handguns, it's been revolvers or it's been specialty handguns, thanks to my upbringing in handgun hunting and later silhouette. I did make a side trip or two shooting bullseye with semi-autos and that was fun, but semi-autos never made much of a splash in handgun hunting and silhouette/long range handgun shooting and those are the games that have been the most important to me. Nope, never had much use for shooting handguns at dart throwing range. Yup, I'm old school.

The majority of my rifles are rimfire and most of them are lever or bolt action. Most of them are older guns of various makes and they have wood furniture. I do have some straight wall pistol cartridge centerfire levers, single action pistols and pump shotguns but most are rimfire including handguns. I just like to hit targets and plink. It pleases me. Maybe 6 years ago I shot a 1911 my Dad left me and I found that they felt right and I have acquired a few more including 2 In 10mm. They are fun too. Not a Glock fan, but I do have Berettas in 22, 25, 32, 9 and 40.

I have a few off the rack bolt guns and more than a few custom smithed bench and prairie dog bolts. I'm a big fan of Smith revolvers and also a fan of 1911's. I'm down to just a couple 5 shot big bore single actions. Had my fling with heavy recoil. I never was a lever person due to the sour taste left over from a Marlin 1894 about 20 years ago but have recently become a Henry addict here in my declining years!

My type has changed over the decades. I liked hi-power military rifles and pistols and even machine guns. Now days I’m more into rimfire and prefer a lever, bolt or pump more than a semi although my last report was with a 10/22.

When I began accumulating firearms in the mid 70’s if it wasn’t a wood stocked blue steel rifle, wood stocked blue steel pump shotgun or a revolver I had no interest in it. I was that way for years until my son went thru basic and when he came home he bought an AR. I kinda liked it so I picked one up and that changed my outlook. I went thru a series of poly framed pistols, composite rifles and shotguns and so forth. Now I’m finding as I get to the last stage of life that I’m returning to my roots as other than a few AR’s my guns are wood stocked blue steel barrel’s. And my few semi pistols are steel framed external hammer style plus a few revolvers too. Life has run full circle for me. It’s been a fun journey.

My Guns have also changed. I like revolters but only own 2 that are double action. Im a Levergun rifle single action pistol first nut. After that I have drifted into 9mm good semi auto pistols like CZ and I have a few semi auto rifles I have started to shoot more. 10/22 has always been one of my favorites. I should have added that when it comes to shotguns Over/Unders are just a thing of beauty at my house.

My Army issue rifle was the M16 but for my rural Illinois lifestyle I never have had an interest in black rifles. I really like blued firearms with walnut grips or stocks. I lean heavily to revolvers (single action & double action), lever guns, and pump shotguns. My preference in brands is Ruger and Henry.
My pump shotguns are older Remington 870's and Mossberg 500's and I really enjoy shooting clay pigeons.
I am not big on semi-auto firearms but I do have a Ruger Mark IV, A Ruger LC9s, and an Ithaca 51 Ducks Unlimited 12 gauge. I had a Marlin 60 .22LR but sold it when the grand kids started shooting out of concern for the safety of by standers. Now that the grand kids are all grown up, I sometimes get the urge to have a Ruger 10/22.

Interesting to hear about so many shooters making room for the 10/22 in their shooting, even when not having other semi-auto 22s. Oh, I agree very much. I remember shooting a friend's 10/22 just a few years after the 10/22 came out and thinking to myself what a fun, handy little gun it was to shoot. Just hard to put down. Nothing else like it at the time.

Hey Al, no mention of them smoke poles.

As to the 10/22's. I had a pair at one time and loved them, as did the two youngest.
Mine were the SS models, now they belong to them.
I was without a semi-auto 22 for a long time.
Then came across a late production M60, then the old Marlin M 89c.
Both of these are accurate and fun enough.
Who knows another 10/22 may end up back here at some point, but
I'm in no real need of one.
