Custom home bullet trap stand

Post by Sir Henry » Wed Dec 13, 2023 10:08 am

I have about a dozen of these rimfire bullet traps. These are set out at 25 and 50 yards. The closest is on a mailbox stand.

Since I now own the field around me I’m thinking of making a movable stand from and old tire, rim and axle. I would mount the axle on the rim backwards and mount a plate on it to place the trap. They could be easily rolled around so the field could be hayed.

I could easily put it out 100 yards from my front porch. I could actually put it out 228 yards and still be on my property. Or out to about 600 yards on my neighbors property. I’ll only be shooting rimfire so 100 should be far enough.

Nice setup Gene! Why not a Harbor Freight dolly with the trap mounted up near handle area?

I think wheels, rims and axle would be cheaper. Especially if I had a half dozen or so.
