Scam Alert
Earlier today, I tried to call Henry to inquire about a delayed package and somehow, I transposed the last two digits of Henry's number. The response started with a recorded message about a free gift card. I didn't pay too much attention to the recording but after it ended, a man answered, gave a name and said Henry. He told me I had won a $100 gift card as a loyalty reward (this surprised me) and asked for contact information to which the card should be sent. I gave him this and tried to steer the conversation towards tracking the package, but he would not let the loyalty card issue lie. After my second attempt to address the package issue, he asked for my credit card information for a onetime charge of something less than $2 to actuate the card.
The light came on and I asked "Is this Henry or a scam?" Click, he was gone.
If this is a known scam among Henry forum members, I apologize for an unnecessary post. If this is new, someone might try it to see if the same scam artist is still working the scam.

Re: Scam Alert
I've never heard of it, but there is no harm warning others. Thank you for thinking of us.

Re: Scam Alert
Scams come from every direction/entity anymore. Pretty depressing. Unfortunately, you just have to be on guard and alert. (pretty sad).
Thanks for sharing your experience though.

Funny that the web page warning you about a scam to get your personal info for insurance agents also asks you for your personal info for the purpose of selling you Final Expense insurance.Mags wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 7:35 pmAnother one...

Thanks for the post. I may call them for entertainment purposes. I’ve done this before and the objective is to waste their time.

Re: Scam Alert
Sure are. And they are getting pretty creative. It's pretty much like the old Wild West out there. We all need to be experts on combating them.markiver54 wrote: ↑Tue Dec 12, 2023 7:43 pmScams come from every direction/entity anymore. Pretty depressing. Re: Scam Alert
When I reached Henry to ask about the delayed package, I mentioned this to the lady who helped me and she seemed to know about the scam. I suggested she mention it to management and that perhaps a warning could be made on the Henry website.
I don't think she showed a lot of interest.

Re: Scam Alert
Obviously, I don't know what is going on internally with Henry, maybe this is something she and Henry are aware of and is being addressed even as we speak. If so, it probably didn't bear too much discussion as I am sure she had other calls needing response.
Or maybe she didn't have a lot of interest.
