Looks like a winner if the build quality is there. I always wanted a wrangler but the dealers in Richmond would never deal. MSRP or nothing.
I owned five Subarus over the years, My first was a 4wd 1980 SW that was awesome... but the last Forester was a bit of a disappointment. They had changed the size of the interior and the seats were thin and uncomfortable. I think it was an attempt to push folks into the Outback. So we traded it in after six months and went back to trucks and have stayed there. Will be interested to see your review after six months to see how you like the Jeep and the treatment by the dealership.

Not sure if I will be allowed to drive it. I have inherited wifes 2008 Grand Cherokee and I have my Nissan 2012 Frontier.

Both our trucks are Nissans, A 2010 Titan Pro4x and a 2015 Frontier Pro4x.

I had a 2009 Frontier and it was a great truck. Had it set up perfect for where we lived, brush guard and driving lights for those dark country roads on the hour long drive home in the wee hours. Towed the kayak trailer without a hitch. Put 240k miles on it before we traded it on the 2012 Frontier to replace it.



I had a 2012 Nissan Frontier, put more than 100k miles on it. Hardly a whimper. Traded it in for another car at the wife's suggestion. She said we had the Titan and didn't have to have TWO trucks, should have a comfortable car for long trips.


Enter the Subaru. Nope. A couple others ... Nope. None were as comfortable as the Titan. We drive IT on all our long trips. Picked up the 2015 Frontier and have been running it ever since. ONLY problem? Miss T has a heavy foot and runs right up on stuff then rides the brake Hard to stop. Have replaced rotors TWICE in the 70k miles the truck has on it. Our mechanic told me, after looking toward the office to see where HIS wife was, that HIS wife has done the same thing for four decades and he's never broken her of it.

I need a truck to get lumber and things. What I really don’t need is a third vehicle. My Outback is great on the road and the Ford Transit van is great for hauling people. I’m thinking of buying a cheap rusted out truck for hauling and winter driving. It’s common to see ten year old vehicles rusted completely through here.

Congratulations on your new jeep. Perhaps you will get to drive it once in a while.

They are nice, well till you have to work on 'em.
I've never been found of anything that Dodge/Chrysler ever built.

The only JEEP I would buy is a Rubicon, and I’ve owned two. I’m sure it’s a lovely car and your wife is lucky to have it. It will be a comfy place to be in the winter.

I have a Tundra and a Sequoia at the moment. The Tundra is a 2019 Crewmax Platinum, and the Sequoia is a 2003 SR5. Take a guess which one has WAAAAAY more comfortable seats? Yes, that’s correct. The ‘03 Sequoia. We just did a 4,000 mile road trip and took the 20 year old rig and left the 4 year old at home.

I wouldn't buy a Jeep. Too many people I know have had chronic automatic transmission failures. I once had a '68 CJ5 with a manual transmission. It was a fun Jeep. It got left behind behind when we started a family. I have a 2000 Tundra. Seats weren't comfortable back then either.

Now that you have had it for a bit, what’s your favorite thing about it?

To each his own.Our fifth jeep all good except for 93 wrangler.which was terrible in snow. Owned two ford trucks over the years and both started to come apart after 50K miles. Both were junk.

I take umbridge with that remark. I have had excellent luck with Ford. I have several right now in fact. A 1947 8N tractor, a 1952 Jubilee Tractor, a 1983 Bronco that I purchased new and it's now our dedicated snow plow. A 2015 Explorer that I drive now.
This is my fourth explorer and I put over 200,000 on three and then gave them to one or our children. The current one had about 140,000 on it and running strong.

I like Fords too.

My Escape was a great car and now I'm loving my Mach E.

Best of luck with the new ride. Since 10 years old I've pretty much been driven around in a Mopar. For over 40 years we've had a least one Molar in the drive way.
