Turning pile of leftovers into something usefull !

Post by fortyshooter » Tue Aug 29, 2023 4:17 pm

Had some leather straps and a belt from a chest holster rig I had some years ago that was very difficult to put on. So wanted to dig thru the pile and come up with a simple modified shoulder rig to carry my large revolvers for field or carry with a jacket on.
Very easy to put on and the waist belt has a retainer loop that can adjust to secure the holster so it doesn't swing out and around. All I had to do was add a few snaps to the belt and shorten that strap used as the holster loop. Also had to add a buckle to make the waist belt.

Think it turned out to be a nice comfortable rig to carry the big boomers and cost was only what I had hanging around in the gun room.

Nicely done. Excellent use of the leftovers. Better than adding ketsup and eating them. But seriously, way to solve an issue and make use of quality gear just laying around.

After years of teaching and going thru the different phases / needs. I had two boxes of holsters and belts.
The belts must have shrunk because of lot them were in that box because they were too short... :o
I started giving the holsters I'd never use to young students who couldn't afford good holsters, and I did find uses for some of those hiding in the box.
Mount one here, mount one there... place to tuck the various guns when you need to. :D

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

That looks pretty good. Very good use of the left over pieces.

As Arte Johnson used to say on Laugh In, “very interesting”. Now just replace interesting with clever!!!

Very clever.
