Been salivating over this rifle since I got home from Alaska, and picked it up at my lgs today. Browning, made by Miroku, and it is what they called the Traditional Hunter model. Very nice rifle that seems to shoot as good as it looks. Had a few 350 grain rounds topped off with Pyrodex. Lots of smoke, light recoil, and hitting what I was aiming at from 75 yards or so offhand. Just got a few shots off before it started raining, but this is going to be a great rifle.

I have the Uberti carbine version with 28 inch barrel in .45-70 and love to shoot the 405-500 gr. cast lead torpedos thru it at moderate speeds.
Fun to shoot. The 405 load using 13 gr.Unique is my favorite plinking load and has been known to destroy a certain bear!

Those are fine rifles but anymore 45-70 has too much boom for me. I always wanted one in 38-55

Always wanted a High Wall in 45-70 or even a nice Sharps. Problem is, I'm so old and feeble now I doubt I could shoulder one of those beasts. Might buy one, though, if I could get Quigley to help me.

My Miroku Low Wall rimfires are more my speed. My favorite 22 LR.

Very nice. Yup, that's a High Wall in its natural setting.
