Small town Virginia hits the map. Farmville,VA had a rock the block evening and country musics overnight sensation was here. Oliver Anthony was making the rounds and mingling with the hometown folks.

I have SO MUCH respect for that man, going by the interviews I've seen with him and from what I've read. His values seem to be where they should be. And I'm more than a little partial to his guitar, his voice, and his songwriting as well.

I hope he stays "real" with all this new found attention. He seems to have a good handle on things for now.

Yes sir!. That's my wife of 52 years and me. (Amazing that anyone put up with me that long.) This is a very respectful young man. IT was a pleasure to meet and chat with him.

I'm jealous. WE lived in Cumberland for almost thirty years, and Farmville was where we did a lot of shopping. Our kids attended Governor's School at Longwood. We were Volunteers at Appomattox River Company and bought a LOT of kayaks from them over the years. Tina was the Tournament Director for YakAttack's annual kayak fishing charity tournament for years. A couple of long time sponsor's held a party YEARS ago and Oliver Anthony was playing at the party, Way before he got famous on YouTube. When I showed her the Rich Men video she told me she knew him from somewhere, and it took her a few minutes to remember from where.

I hope he does stay the same, and doesn't get dragged into the down side of the music scene... He's good though, I wish him all the best.
