Rough Day

Post by markiver54 » Wed Jul 19, 2023 11:11 pm

Today has been very difficult. I lost my Dad today. He was 91 and was suffering from cancer. We knew it was coming, but, that doesn't make it any easier. Even if you think you're prepared, it hits hard. He lived in the Denver CO. area. He was suffering, and under Colorado law, you can choose to legally end your life if you are terminally ill, which he chose to do. The lethal dose/coctail was administered at 10:00 am today and he was gone just prior to 11:00 am. My Dad is a VERY spiritual man and he chose to "go home". RIP Dad...

So sorry for your loss, Tina and I will keep you in our prayers.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Rough day doesn't begin to cover it, and I'm sorry for your loss.
Have to respect the difficulty of making a choice like that, and the fortitude to do it.
Prayers sent for you and your family.

Sorry for the loss buddy, yep, knowing it's coming doesn't make it any easier.
Same thing with our mother, knew it was coming, but hard to except the same.

So sorry to hear of your loss. It's tough. It takes time, but eventually the memory of the good times outweighs the loss. Having said that, I still miss my dad after 35+ years.

He made the choice to go home and I admire that. He had faith.
You'll miss him but he is in your heart and mind for the rest of your life so he's
not really gone. I still miss my Dad and he's been gone for decades.

Condolences for your loss. I echo clovishound in that after a bit of time you start remembering all the good times, laughter, and celebration that you shared. I lost my father, only 56 at the time, back in 1982. It's been 41 years and I still think of him.
