And no, I didn't end up as the butt of a Tic Tok video. At least I hope I didn't. Anyway, I just joined a couple days ago and had the meeting with a trainer. I asked him where the weight scale was, and he told me they don't have one. He said he wasn't even allowed to bring one in and have it in his office.

I must be behind the times. I always thought that one of the major reasons people join a gym is to lose weight. How do you know if you are losing weight without some kind of objective metric? I can understand not having it out where everyone can see your weight when you use it, but it seems like a necessary piece of equipment at a gym.

Guess I'll have to run by Wally World and get one. I'm hoping to make a dent in the nearly 40 lbs I've gained in the last year sitting around the house.

What, have a scale in the gym. Someone might ask someone to step on a scale and damage their ego. I'll bet he didn't have a tape measure either.
The first time I joined a gym, they weighed me and took a LOT of measurements. Then repeated it every Friday. Charted my progress. It was VERY helpful. They didn't post the results on the wall...
