Not the best idea here to save a buck!

So on my High Tower made Bullpup stock for the HiPoint there is a flaw in the engineering for the magazine latch. Poor place to save a buck when you use plastic part for the magazine latch/lock ! Now I had trouble with the Redball 20 rd. mags staying locked it place as they would fall out and you could jiggle them out. I then tried to bend up the mag catch lip on the mags for more engagement and it work for a while during range test but one would fall out again.
Called High Tower and they had an improved mag latch still made of plastic but had more engagement. You can see from picture the angled part is cut back for more travel of lock lug. Getting ready to install new part and I can see how much wear there has been on the original mag lock from my two range sessions with the carbine. That sharp spring steel magazine notch is causing heavy wear on locking edge....not good.

Not an easy part to machine out of steel but will install the better plastic part and see how long it will last. Even a cast piece MIM part would be better than plastic! As you can see the original "cheap" HiPoint stock used a steel part there!!

The new part was FREE as a better replacement so great CS service there. While I had it all torn down I took the action apart and cleaned it and
installed the lighter MCARBO trigger spring which made a nice improvement in the spongy harder trigger pull.

One thing for sure shooting with the suppressor on there pumps a good bit of crud into the works but it keeps on working much like an AK-47 !
