that boy has taken a lot of punishment .... I've fired a round through a 10 ga and I never plan to repeat that experience .... I can't imagine pulling the trigger on a 4 ga

Jim, a good friend and x neighbor has a dbl 10ga. He talked me into shooting it one afternoon. Now it has a pretty long barrel and fairly hefty and I don't remember whatever load the shells were, but is wasn't to bad. I was rather surprised I'll have to ask him what manufacturer it is as I haven't a clue
But, I still stick to the above post on the 4 bore.

Oh hell no! I've shot some big guns but I know better than to shoot that.
Looks like a Ruger No1 Falling block action that they used to manufacture that 4 bore.

as best I can remember the 10 ga I fired was a very plain Browning pump .... we were deer hunting and it was loaded with 00-buchshot .... back then I hunted farm fields that were literally a square mile or more ..... I hunted with a 300 WBY Mag and could handle much stronger recoil than I can now .... lets just say that Browning left a long lasting impression on me
