So I decided to trade off my Bond Grizzly 45/410 derringer due to not having full confidence in it after the hammer explosion even though it was repaired. Had been looking at the Stoeger Coach Shotguns for a while and found that Green Tops gun shop had some in 20 gauge which was great.
Located 40 miles North of me wife and I took off this morning to see what they would give me as credit on a trade for the Grizzly.

Didn't do bad at all getting the coach gun for a great price on trade. Now the fantastic part.... Went over to where they keep the reloading supplies
and liked to fell over seeing Unique....2400....and Red Dot powders.....holy cow and the price....36.99 for 1 lb of Unique.....HAPPY DAYS ARE BACK !! :o :D :D :D :D :D :D .

Sign said limit of 2 for Alliant powders so happily grabbed my share and checked out again. Man what a great day it was and will be heading to the range this week for some 20 ga. plinking !

Sweet deal on the trade. Great looking coach gun. Like Jim I have my heart set on a coach gun with hammers. Be nice if Henry would make one.

I looked for the hammer versions of other brands but they are big bucks when you find one. However with the double triggers you can still fire both barrels at once if you want to. For the money the Stoegers hard to beat. Had heard how tight the new ones can be as far as break open so I put a bit of moly lube on the hinge points and it is right smooth and will get better after use.

Congrats on the double, and the powder score.
No primers?

They had powder but no primers other than some 209 for shot shells. Ol skully I found him at a shop 10 years ago in Ga. and yes the "southern" stamp was on it when I bought it. Must have been a 45 that took him down!

Forty, most likely one of those air powered apparatuses.
Not sure what it is called, I remember a movie some time back where the bad guy used one to knock the lock out of door knobs as to access the room and or house.
Looked it up, Captive bolt gun. ;)

Double Barrel 20 Gauge Shotguns are hard to find. Looks good. Is that one brand new or used?

I had to use my Bond Arms Rowdy on a snake Saturday. Was thinking of your Derringer.

I see this morning that my LGS right down the road has some Winchester SP primers in stock at 79 bucks. Guess that is new normal for awhile.

Better than $90 which is what I've been seeing.
Was at the local Academy a week or so ago and was talking to another customer.
he was telling me that the week before that the store actually had some primers.
Limited, but they were $6.99 a sleeve.

Great Flick with Tommy Lee Jones. The bad guy is Javier Bardem. Awesome acting all around.
Lots of other great talent including Woody Harrelson and Josh Brolin.
The suppressed shotgun is cool as well.

THAT brings back memories. I had been a Green Top customer from way back in the early 70s when they actually had a Green Top and were located on Route 1. I was a teenager still in high school and bought ammo and fishing gear there as well. Then, after my time in the Corps, I came back to VA. I was a Department Firearms Instructor and bought ammo, duty gear, and such on contract. I still bought personal firearms, ammo and equipment from them. Including my Smith M&P 340 Snubby, Kimber Tactical Ultimate and the Stoeger Coach Gun Supreme in 12 Gauge that Miss T picked up for me as a get well gift after a major surgery.

No, thank you. ;)

Went right out and pulled up my tape directory, and Miss Tina and I popped popcorn and watched the movie again. :P
Then Hell or High Water with Jeff Bridges and Ben Foster, another great movie, with a special guest appearance (An unplanned slither on) by a rattlesnake near the end... NOT a spoiler... it has NO effect on the movie.
