A good movie all the way around, and the parts were well cast and well done... but as we watched, I was really impressed again by one actor in the film.... Ben Foster. He has been top drawer in a number of quality films we have watched (and rewatched) in the last few years. Always spot on.

3:10 to Yuma
Lone Survivor
Hell or High Water
The Mechanic

He has been in others that are highly rated and I will check those out. These I listed above, I have watched several times.
Good roles for him and excellent work in my opinion, but ... I'm old and Grumpy, and NOT a critic. :)

for my money, the Russell Crowe version of that movie is the best .... as noted Ben Foster played a strong part

Yes. And Christian Bale was excellent too. I really liked him in " Hostiles". A great movie.

All the actors hit the parts and did a great job, the post was meant to highlight the work of Foster. He nailed his part here and was excellent in his roles in both Lone Survivor and Hell or High Water....

A trivia note that was interesting. (Spoiler Warning!)

In the scene where Tommy Lee Jones aims in to take his shot... look at the base of the rock that Foster is Sitting On!
That is a real Rattler making a slither on guest appearance... not CGI and NOT planned. :o

Ben Foster is an excellent actor. "Hell and high water" and "Lone survivor". Also in "Hostiles"
Have you guys seen Christain Bale in "Ford vs Ferarri"? Amazing. There's talent out there.

A western I want to watch is "Once Upon A Time In The West". I've watched enough clips on Youtube to know the plot (and the ending) but would like to see the whole thing from beginning to end. It did seem funny to see Henry Fonda playing a bad guy, seems like he mostly has been a good guy in the western's I've seen him in.
