We had a bright bulb here a few years ago that robbed a bank, and dropped his ID at the bank. The cops were waiting for him at his house.

Really? That can't be real. The door isn't even locked. The dumb criminal could have just opened the door.

We had a guy walk into a 7-11 to rob it, and ignore the cop standing at the counter chatting with the clerk. In UNIFORM. So focused on what he was going to do he just walked in and stuck the gun in the clerks face. The clerk turned and pointed at the COP...
In another scenario in another Jurisdiction the robber walked past the Cop doing paperwork in the squadcar in the parking lot, didn't notice the MASSIVE SWAT officer in turnout gear drinking coffee at the end of the counter, and did the same thing. Clerk smiled and turned to grin at the Tactical Officer pointing his pistol at the Robber, and the backup guy coming in the door.
Sometimes they aren't real bright.

Had a guy that slid his car into a chain link fence at my school one snowy night, did quite a bit of damage to the fence but did not report it. After I called the cops the next morning they came out and found his license plate laying next to the fence.
Another guy broke into one of our portable classrooms, a few days later the teacher found his cell phone that had dropped out of his pocket and it was traced back to him. All he got was a few bucks in change and some keys, unfortunately for him one of the missing keys unlocked every outside door at the school and our school locksmith had already re-keyed them all and made new keys for everyone that had a outside door key. Part of his plea deal was to reimburse the district for what it would have cost to have had a retail locksmith do the work.
A funny one was when a classroom was broken into one night and the only thing missing was some old film strips. Sometime in the next couple of days one of our special needs kids asked the school librarian if she had a film strip projector he could borrow.
