Off the wall...
What kind of socks do you wear?
I try to always wear wool, unless I am doing outside filthy work in a hurry then I use whatever cotton sports socks I have at hand, cause I know they are getting soaked and need to be washed after one wear.
Dring the normal course of a week, I wear wool, more than one day at a time. They never keep foot odor, they don't get damp and keep the dampness next to the skin, and they are warm, or comfortable, whatever is needed.
I grew up with my mother knitting wool socks, I probably still have five or so pair still in good shape, and they have some age on them! Like about 30 for them! In recent years I have been wearing wool form Darn Tough, hikers, over calf boot/hunting and crew socks. Love them, can't say enough good about them. Made in Vermont.

Merino wool for socks, long underwear top and bottom and then a wool shirt, usually a Pendleton.

Depends on the season/climate. Also the activity I'm into and whatever else I'm wearing. Usually none in the summer unless I'm working on something or doing yard work.

Mostly Kirkland cotton. If I'm outside for a while, while it's really cold, I'll wear wool.

I hear ya!!!
I have to say when I wear cotton, I like Timberland - no idea where they are made, but they are a respectable weight, and last quite a few years.

In my neck of the woods, people rarely wear wool socks. Might have something to do with the seasons.
1. Really hot
2. Surface of the sun
3. Pretty hot
4. Not as hot
I do have one pair of warm socks. I think I wore them in 2020. Once.

Mostly cotton, long ones in the winter and shorties in the summer. But, anytime I wear boots in the winter it’s a nice wool blend. Just picked up another four pack from Costco.

Been there done it - lived in Beaufort for 9 plus years. But I will have to say, since the MilSpec socks were a wool blend, or mostly wool, I can't say I suffered. But, my out and about socks at the time were cotton, so....
Not a bad pole, seems pretty even between cotton and wool.

Different socks for different seasons.
When I saw the title of this thread, I thought it was socks for rifles. I bought half dozen for my rifles. Not for my AR though. Prefer to keep that one handy at all times.
