Influenza

Post by JEBar » Mon Jan 02, 2023 6:21 pm

I got sick Christmas Eve and today made myself go over to our local Walgreens for Covid and Flu testing .... the Flu test could be processed in the store so it came back within a couple of hours .... Negative for Influenza Type A .... Positive for Influenza Type B .... no clue what's the difference .... its been something under 10 years of since I had the Flu .... it reacted with my Sleep Apnea ... the results of which knocked my heart out of time and eventually a trip to Duke University Hospital for heart surgery .... we will be on the phone first thing in the morning with our family doctor to see what, if any, meds he may want to prescribe .... knowing what I do now, I should have broken down and gone in for testing several days ago

Hoping you have a fast recovery Jim. Wife and I had it week before Christmas and it took a week to get over it.

Good for you to take the pro-active step getting checked. Yeah, maybe a bit sooner but we’re all in your boat. Hard to get away from “I’ll be fine in a few days” since that is what happens “most” of the time. Get well soon.

I did that over Thanksgiving. In fact we had to cancel Thanksgiving dinner with the family.
I'm fine now, but it was like a bad head cold.
