Friends came and we moved one tripod stand from one farm to a new location another farm. Next weekend son and a friend are hauling in a big hunting hut he built for us. Will have propane heat and be pretty nice for nasty days. (Ya need to adapt when ya gets old) brother coming down the 24th to help me with some final set ups and to get guns scopes zero checked out. Hope to have fun deer season this year....

Understand the adaptation, I have two heated hunting houses.

I’m thinking of building one next spring so I can shoot targets on my berm. Won’t the deer smell the propane?

A few years ago I had a doe walk by mine close enough that I could almost touch her.
But as a general rule they don't venture that close, so it's a none issue.

Clean burning propane, yields water and carbon dioxide, hence odorless. Bad burning propane adds carbon monoxide, also odorless (and unsafe to breath). There is a brief smell of propane when the stove is being lit.

I may put a heater in mine just to shoot targets.

I have a friend at the gun range who brings his ice fishing house, erects it over a bench rest, lights his heater and shoots all day warm and comfy.
