Yeah you know how the ad goes...."delivered right to your door" but here is the whole trail.

After an extensive background check and 1 year wait my ATF was approved I had to fill out a form like buying a gun which is then sent to my local police Dept. They don't have to sign off on it...just the mailman signs as delivered. BUT then the company Silencer Central has to wait 7 days after they get notified of the CLEO delivery before they can ship it out BUT not to me directly. It has to get mailed to an FFL dealer in my state and they have one in each state they deal with. When the FFL gets it or several for other customers in that state HE then mails them out to the individuals who are to recieve them....has to wait one day before he does that!!
So SC will ship mine out to who knows where on Monday and maybe with in a week I might have it. I ask if I was lucky enough that the chosen FFL was local could I just pick it up there with identification? Oh no.....it has to be mailed.

This crap will drive you nuts!!! Guess what....if it gets "lost" and can't be recovered I have to start all over again due to the serial number being registered. I just heard that in state of Tenn. the gov is ready to sign a bill allowing purchase of or owning a SBR or SBS without ANY ATF stamp or process.

Arrgghh!

I've got 9 current cans, and one defunct can. I feel your pain.

Sounds like the ATF wants to make the process as difficult as possible.

I do almost all of my shooting with cans now. It makes for a pleasant day. The frustration with our stupid laws is well worth the wait imho.

I thought of getting one in Washington but found it easier to just move to Wisconsin. I heard gunfire when Al was here.

Im surprised that those can companys can even stay in business with all the red tape

Well I got an email that it will be shipped to an FFL dealer in Culpeper Va. which is 2 hours away from me and shipped out from there to my home.
Hopefully all goes well and it arrives as planned. Then I will sit back with a beer or two and just stare at it for a while!

Well the solid spacer for fixed barrel use came in this morning. It was mailed out USPS on May 5 so not bad at all. Hope the main part is shipped and received in same fashion!

Way too much rigamarole for me to mess with. Besides, I like hearing the big boom.

It's getting closer now sitting at the FFL stop 2 hours away! I like the boom too but having a relatively quiet 45 carbine as a house gun is good!

I'd like to suppress a 22 bolt action, maybe our CZ. Not sure I want to deal with the hassle. We live in the country, no issue with neighbors... But with the 22 I could also use it on a Ruger Pistol.

With the new E-file system they say the wait time is much less. They didn't have this in place when my paperwork was sent in.
Go for it while you can and with the trust setup which SC handles for you. Then you can name someone to pass it on to without a lot of paperwork.
