This is Little Girl and she is the resident rodent control officer. She is starting at something. Yep something has her attention. I think she is telling me it’s right there. The past owner has told me nothing can get under the house. I’ve noticed from the outside a small hole under the front deck right outside of this location. I think she is earning her keep. On the other hand she isn’t much help when it comes to putting a puzzle together. Cute goes a long way in my home and if you are cute you can get away with a lot of things.

We had a cat years ago. Or should I say we were employed by a cat years ago. One morning I was getting ready to go diving with my buddy, when I noticed Jake was in the corner of the living room with his tail straight up in the air and he was making a very strange hissing noise. I went over to see what was going on. I moved the small trash can and discovered a small rat snake had made it's way into the house. I quickly removed the offending reptile, and heaped great praise on Jake. I decided to never tell SWMBO about it, as I didn't want to have to move, and a couple months later discovered how the little cold blooded invader must have made his way into the house.

A steady supply of small animals to tempt their palette is how these amazing little furry creatures came to domesticate us, and some of us find that is a good reason to remain in their service.

My Wife's little black and white tortures mice in the laundry room and then they crawl off to die
where we can't find them, but we can smell them. I wish she'd kill them and bring them to Carol.

We had two siamese cats when I was a kid living in FL in the late 60s early 70s. Gumdrop and Spice hunted the giant Florida cockroaches and lizards at night, sitting on the dining room table and pouncing. They also ran the neighborhood. The dogs wouldn't come in the yard, in fact, they wouldn't walk on our side of the street. The cats would double team intruders. Full size Shepherds crossed the street when passing our house.

** Note... Our house was clean... The giant 'roaches' came out of the palm trees and somehow found there way in. The house was sprayed once a month... These guys snorted that stuff like coke.

Could be worse like my Buster digging up the backyard hunting voles or anything else tunneling in the yard!

A good mouser is handy for any home. If not, regular old mouse traps are a must, especially in the country.
Your cat is very cute and looks like she likes the new digs just fine.

The neighbor who remodeled the house stopped by today and told me how to take the deck apart and reconfirmed the mouse or what he thought would more likely be a rabbit could not get under or into the house.
