That's called a Sun Dog. There should be two of them, one on each side of the sun.
Want to make instant new friends, get one of those cheese hats and wear it to town.

I love rainbows...
We were just happy to see the SUN this morning.
It has been a dreary few days of ice, sleet, and snow.
