Had to say goodbye to the old aluminum Christmas tree.

My folks bought this tree back in mid 1960's and I have put it up at my place over the years since their passing. I rotate Christmas trees ever so many years and when I started to put this one up the aluminum foil on the limbs started to crumble as you pulled them out the paper sleeves.
I could see that this would work no more and put the couple of limbs back in the old tattered box.

Well it brought Christmas joy for 55 years or more and it was time to say goodbye to it. Still have the color wheel which still works.

Nice vintage carton, I'd keep the new tree in that box. 55 yrs of Christmas memories are worth their weight in primers.

The nostalgic value of your tree is astronomical. Sad you can't use it anymore. May you have a safe and blessed Christmas with your friends and family. My youngest daughter about age 36 came over Sunday night to help me set up our Christmas tree.. We were loading up the tree with ornaments that she and her two older sisters made in grade schoo!.

I've always liked artificial trees, my better half likes real trees..

I noticed some of the new pre-lit artificial trees in the stores recently. At $400+ bucks I'll keep the ones I have!

Color wheel, now that brings back some memories. My Grandmother on my mom’s side always had a white flocked tree with only red ornaments on it. They she put a color wheel pointed at it and that created other colors. We always spent Christmas afternoon and evening with her and my Grandfather and that’s where all the cousins were too!

As BRM showed, it's time to give that tree a proper burial. It's served you family well.

We still have and use the tree top light from our first Christmas 50 years ago. It a plastic star with a colored wheel inside that turns from the heat of a small bulb. My wife refuses to give that star up.
