Pretty hard to out do the trigger on a Smith. They have always been one of the better out of the box triggers. You can make the trigger on a GP 100 comparable to the Smith but it takes some action work. I do like that the GP has a front sight that you can swap out for a fiber optic and with some use the GP trigger will smooth out. I see grab a gun is now out of the GP and when I got a quote on the Smith they knocked off some of the price.

I noticed a rebate on Smiths at Grab A Gun as well. Well if only 686s are in stock at Grab A Gun and you like the trigger, plus there is a rebate, that may be your answer?
