Had a 16 oz of Miller High Life tonight watching football with a group watch at the clubhouse with other people here at the park. Everyone brought a dish. Was good and fun cheers

We will be gone for Carol's birthday so our daughter brought a nice chocolate cake last evening.
First we had BBQ chopped pork sandwiches with baked beans and cole slaw. I enjoyed a Miller High Life with that.
Then the cake. Afterword they left and I had a martini watching the second football game.
All in all is was a nice day with the bon fire and all. It was around zero, but the fire was large enough to keep everyone warm.

My nitecap of choice is unregulated Georgia whiskey. Well, I suppose my adult beverage of choice is unregulated Georgia whiskey. That and Mike's Hard Lemonade. Used to be a Crown or Jamison sipper, but once I found a producer that was consistent, that all changed. And I've always favored clear liquor anyway.

I like a good tequila. Problem is, I like my liquor by itself, just like I like my steak. I don't use A1 on meat, I don't dilute good liquor with anything, not even ice. Next problem is, if you want good sippin' liquor, you are going to pay for it, and I hate having to spend that amount of coin on it. I've had great tequila out of the country. I have had outstanding vodka, again, not in the USA. Same with some great Japanese whiskey and vodka. Too bad those brands can't be acquired in the US in their original, "unscrewedaroundwith" form.

So my cabinet has a modest collection of high end, clear and not so clear liquors that get sampled once in a long while, and the shelf in my office has a ready jar (or steel bottle) of my every day lubricant that only costs me $60 a half gallon, and a half gallon lasts me about 6 months.

96 proof and out-fuggin'-standing taste!

In my Army days it was always said that you could tell a mountain boy by that scar on his nose from sipping from that fruit jar.
Sounds like that unregulated stuff I used to see when I lived in Virginia. Of course I never never indulged in that.

First of all I find it hard to find good steaks anymore. I grew up on corn fed beef, not grass fed. Occasionally I find some good
beef by studying the marbling, but most stores don't carry that, so we buy our beef mainly from the farmer himself.

I have sampled good Japanese Saki which is really good and smooth unlike the stuff we can get here. Also good tequila with the worm
in the bottle. (Ever eat the worm?) (Maybe after drinking the bottle). A good friend of mine from Texas once did a tequila showdown at a country roadhouse. The bar maid was astonished how much we drank and still drove home, (all deserted country roads), and as a passenger all I contributed to the drive was an occasional shout of "Mailbox Tex". (That was a sorry affair). I made it to work the next day, he did not.

So now I'm older and wiser. (Wisdom comes from making mistakes).

In the end gunpowder and alcohol don't mix, so I am more mellow in my old age. That and the fact I married a Lawyer settled me down. If she divorced me I wouldn't even have underwear.
