SVG will be making his oval debut at indy in the truck series the friday before the cup series road course race.

Rumored trackhouse have a option on him for next season if they can put together a deal to run a 3rd car.

Another great night of SRX racing. Tony Stewart won all 3 race (2 heat races and the feature). Hallie Deegan P2 and Ryan Newman P3. Ron Capps from NHRA proved the straight line boys can also turn left on dirt. Next week is the final race of the SRX season. What a great summer series, close racing, bring together top drivers from several different series.

I sure hope that it expands to a larger number of races in the near future.

It is a great series and gives Nascar some good competition.

I would have liked to attend the one in my area, but Thursday nights make it a little rough, lol.

A reasonable result for SVG in his oval debut.
Started 24th and finished 19th first car a lap down dropping a lap with 10 to go.
Was as high as 15th with 60 to go but dropped a few spots after as he said he steered the team in the wrong direction with the last pitstop adjustments.
Would have to class it as a good result given he has never raced a truck or on an oval, finished top 20 with a straight truck, stayed out of trouble and was making steady progress forward until going the wrong direction with setup.

SVG has qualified 8th fellow supercars driver Brodie Kostecki 11th.
Have to say a very good result given how the other international drivers qualified.
Kobayashi who like Kostecki is making his 1st start in Nascar will start from 28th, Button who has a few races under his belt 31st and Rockenfeller 37th.
Button and Rockenfeller both have considerably more seat time in a Nascar having raced the LeMans 24h entry this year.

34 was the class of the field, not sure how to rate SVG performance. After winning on debut a top 10 could almost be seen as a bad result but he qualified in the top 10 ran around there all day and finished top10. With regular drivers who have road course wins finishing behind him i guess it was a good solid performance.
Similar with Brodie had to start from the back after his qualifying incident, made his way through the pack and was on track for a finish in the mid teens. Took a gamble on pit strategy that didnt pay off and finished 22nd in the end.

Aussie racers having a go at the highest level of Nascar isnt anything new. 35 years ago back in 1988 the first ever cup race held outside the USA was held in Aus. Most of the leading Aus drivers at the time started the race and some made starts in other cup races over the next few years. The track still exists but has been abandoned for a number of years.
Not sure how much work would be required to get it back to a racing standard but they still put cars around it. Prior to this years Aus F1 grand prix Alpine F1 drivers Pierre Gasly, Esteban Ocon and F2 driver Jack Dohan ran laps around it in a Supercar.

A bit of footage of the first race

and yet another road race today. These are oval track cars and not road racers. Why not spice it up with a drag race??!!
While taking a break I tuned in to it for couple minutes and then out I went.

Chris Buescher wins a wild one. Third win in the last 5 races.

Horrible flip over by Ryan Preece.

Everyone will remember that wreck and how well the car stayed in one piece. Hope all is well for the driver!

Ryan Preece's wreck brought back memories of high speed wrecks in days gone by .... they've done one heck of a job in preventing such aerials ... this morning's reports sound good

Great to see that he got released from the hospital and is either on the way or already back home in NC.

I never cease to be amazed at the level of destruction a cup car can undergo and still protect its driver

Glad to see that they fixed it though from the problems they had with it last year.

Have to say that was pretty unlike Nascar who have an impressive record of safety.
