2023 NASCAR Season
Re: 2023 NASCAR Season
A bit more cross over between our Aussie supercar series and Nascar this weekend.
Logano will run a special mosaic paint scheme celebrating 100 race wins by shell/pennzoil and penske reached with Newgardens 500 victory.
56 of those wins came in the Aussie supercars championship the majority buy current Penske Indy driver McLaughlin.
Erebus motorsport who currently lead this years supercars championship and whos drivers are sitting 1 and 2 will be in St Luis this weekend as guests of RCR. Both drivers, CEO, lead engineer and one of the driver managers will be in attendance.

Re: 2023 NASCAR Season
Nascar just went Woke again. Just when myself and I'm sure some others out there were starting to ease back some getting back into it, here they went and knock us out again along, so it seems with some new boycotters, by their recent announcement. Thus, my boycott continues. I know we can't get too involved with this subject on here, so that's all I'm going to say.

Re: 2023 NASCAR Season
No idea, there CGF, but will say I'm really sick of this whole woke BS.
I myself gave up on the sport some years back after being a VERY devoted fan for a long time.
It is sad at what they are doing to our once so Great country.

I'm still not a Kyle Busch fan but the fact is he sure earned this one .... sat on the Pole .... won Stage 1 .... had to hold onto 1st place through 5 restarts with the last being a Green/White/Checker

Great to see the public finally fighting back in a big way like now. It seems like the Bud Light deal has started a new era of opposition.

Re: 2023 NASCAR Season
Truex wins another, Kyle Busch 2nd at Sonoma.
Boring race in my opinion, but I was never a fan of road courses.
Looked like pretty poor attendance as well. Some stands were about 90% full, others 90% empty, others covered over.
Would be nice to trade a Sonoma for a Rockingham. But no offense to any California fans out there.
Pretty good suggestion from a Nascar boycotter, lol.

agree on both counts ..... if I was a driver, I believe I'd enjoy a road course .... as an observer, not so muchCowboy Gun Fan wrote: ↑Sun Jun 11, 2023 7:13 pmBoring race in my opinion, but I was never a fan of road courses.

Re: 2023 NASCAR Season
Interesting opinion on current Nascar. He talks about a certain period. I could add a little more before it and sure can add more after it:

Re: 2023 NASCAR Season
I've been watching Dirty Mo with Dale, Jr more and more lately. They sure have a lot of great interviews and stories about the old days.
They said that when Dale, Jr signed with Hendrick back in '08 (which was a decision I did not like, but that's for another time), the move made a combination of $270 Million in the first year's time. Now they say the whole thing including all the drivers only amounts to $100 Million. Still a lot of money, but what a drop-off.

I knew it was just about the money.
I find it rather humorous that Jr. never won a championship, nor won near the races the Kyle did and has.
I was never a SR. fan and or a Jr. fan, but Dale Sr. was a Hell of a driver.
I've watch Jr's show and liked it well enough, he's much better at talkin than he ever was as a driver.

Re: 2023 NASCAR Season
Kyle's wins greatly increased after Hendrick let him go. I always wondered how Rick felt every time Kyle won a race. Regrets??
They say Hendrick is good to work for, but I didn't like how he treated drivers that he planned to let go. They were barred from driver's meetings and sure made them feel unwanted. Same thing with Brian Vickers when they let him go. I thought it was pretty funny when he tangled with Jimmie Johnson and won a race right towards the end. I could just imagine him and Hendrick facing each other afterwards. I would have said "Heck, you hired me to win didn't you"?, lol.
