Guitars are the same, electric, acoustic don't matter. You want a decent outfit, 1k is about the treshold were quality of materials and features start to make sense. Mind you those are reputable manufacturers like Fender, Martin, etc. which are in those cases manufactured overseas or Mexico.
For a USA made product you've got to reach deeper into your pockets.
I found Winchester, Marlin (Ruger made) new prices to be located higher then Henry rifles. Rossi is right behind Henry, maybe a 100 bucks less for a similar product. Then there is resale value. Winchester is on top, Henry holds a good value, Marlin depends on model & manufacturing period w/ Ruger made Marlins fetching less on the used market. Rossi falls below quickly, but still is a desired product.
I am confident I made the right decision this time around. I need to get my head out of the jam and take aim at the range.
I am well equipped, me thinks.
2 revolvers
2 1911s
1 HK pistol 9mm
2 Henry rifles
1 Ruger 10/22
Site seems to be working OK.
Ted's daily small talk
Re: Ted's daily small talk
If we can still buy what we like, all is good. Resale is a thought. Going on 40 years, I have not sold a firearm that I have purchased. But, it is nice to know that I may not have negative value in one though.
Actions speak louder than words (Matthew 7:16-20).

Ted, the 357 lever rifle is a great choice. I’ve had two, a Marlin and a Henry and it’s so much fun. My favorite routine was to set up 5-6 bowling pins and shoot them as fast as possible without taking the rifle from my shoulder. It’s gets fun to try to balance speed with accuracy and missing one pin equals total failure. Start over and try it again, fun, fun, fun.

I can see you guys having fun. It's contagious.
Bowling pins are not permitted at the range I introduced previously. They splitter too much and nobody wants to clean it up. I know they are popular to shoot at, I never had that kind of fun. Personally, I like steel plates or silhouettes that fall over.
Steel plates off various sizes hanging off a frame are my favorite. You don't need to go down range and retrieve or set them up again.
Off-loading, aka selling stuff always has a cleansing effect. Start new. I already sorted out plenty of stuff, trying to hang on to some essentials.
Now I realize, after I pickup that Lever Action, I have 3 new rifles in the cabinet. All with nice wood furniture. That's something to behold.
Did I mention, I am determined to lose a significant amount of weight (once again). It's about diet at the moment.
So, if I come off stranger than fiction, I may not been happy with my veggie juice.
But, as I said: nothing that a good piece of Rock n Roll couldn't fix.
