Here we go again!

Post by clovishound » Thu Jun 18, 2026 4:53 pm

Got up this morning and looked around the corner, to discover my wife on the floor. A trip to the ER and she is having her broken hip replaced. We went through this exact same scenario a couple years ago with the other hip.

The only bright side is we know what we are going into this time, and it might be better to happen now that she can recover reasonably easily, as opposed to years down the road when it might be a much bigger issue.

FYI, it is the exact same type of fracture as her other hip.

As you already know, hip replacement heals fairly quickly and the recovery period is short. Good luck to her. I had my right hip done eight years ago and the recovery was uneventful.

Best of luck, hope she heals quickly.

Thanks all. She had the surgery this afternoon, and all went well. She was basking in the afterglow of the anesthesia and painkillers when we left. Last time, it was somewhat difficult recovery, although it ended up well. I hope it will be easier this time since she got the surgery so quickly after the injury.

Best to her Clovis. Nice this time to have an idea of what to expect with recovery. My neighbor this year had her knee replaced and then her hip. She said the hip recovery was much easier than the knee.

Well, she is definitely doing better this go round. At 2 days from surgery she is about where she was over a week out from the last replacement. Thanks for all the kind words.
