The CrossTrek was a stripped down model and I missed those extras. The people in the backseat told me it was too small. I did like the new car smell.

Big Mistake on their part if they were trying to get you to trade up the old Subie. Should have put you in a new car as nice as yours you'd want to keep, not something to make you miss your old car... Duh.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

I actually asked for the bigger Accent but gave me what was available. On the way home I realized how much I liked the nine year old Outback over a brand new CrossTrek. Mine is so much better to drive and just ride in.BrokenolMarine wrote: ↑Thu Mar 05, 2026 9:10 amBig Mistake on their part if they were trying to get you to trade up the old Subie. Re: DIET is a four letter word.
Back in 1978 I bought a Subaru BRAT, (Bi-Drive, All, Terrain). I loved it. It was my mountain goat in Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia when I lived there.
My oldest Daughter graduated from High School and was going off to college and I offered to buy her a new car to drive at college. She said, "No Daddy, I couldn't afford the insurance, so I just want your BRAT."
So I gave it to her and bought a 1983 Ford Bronco which I still own today and it is my snow plow.
