A Couple Movies...

Post by BrokenolMarine » Fri Jul 21, 2023 11:31 pm

Saw a couple VERY brief twitter clips from movies on my youtube tab on the computer and ordered them based on the clips and reading the reviews on IMDB... Miss T and I watched both of them today and they were pretty entertaining...

The first was called "RIPD" and is an Action Comedy with Ryan Reynolds, Jeff Bridges, Kevin Bacon and Mary-Louise Parker.
It's kind of like Men in Black meets Zombieland... but not. Action and lot's of laughs....

The Second is called "Nobody" and is about the aftermath of a Home Invasion of the home of a Nobody. (Who really isn't.)
It has Bob Odenkirk, Christopher Lloyd and a pretty good action film. Odenkirk came up with the idea after HE was the victim of a real Home Invasion.

Both were available on Amazon and were reasonably priced. I had never heard of either...
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Never heard of either, and the first isn't anything I'd care about as I don't give two hoots about the whole zombie BS.
And never a great fan of the Men n Black series.
The second, I could probably watch it.

They aren't really zombies, it's a bit more.
Reynolds, a cop, is killed. He is assigned to a unit that hunts for and returns "Deadies" or those who died and "Slipped thru the cracks" and didn't "Go where they were supposed to go." They look like regular people until they "Pop" or turn into the dead folk. In a normal arrest by the "Rest in Peace Department" they are just cuffed and hauled away to their final rest. Reynolds and Bridges (Who was a Marshall in the 1800s) are not having much luck with things going well. It's an action Comedy...

That was a good scene. Odenkirk trained for months to get into shape to do the fight scenes and stunts in the movie himself. I was impressed.

I need to look up “Nobody”.

I’ve seen RIPD a couple times and enjoyed it. Theres actually a RIPD 2 and as I recall I didn’t find it as good.
Last I knew, RIPD was free on Netflix.

Any movie with Bob Odenkirk and Christopher Lloyd has to be a good one. I’ll check it out.

It's available to watch free with ads on Prime.
Warning, following clips are brutal.

Pretty different character than I'm used to seeing for Christopher Lloyd

Yup, Doc Brown plays Odenkirk's Dad! He's great in the movie...

Too hot to be outside, I'm going to watch it this afternoon. I watched the clip when he pulled the napkin off the Claymore, that was great.
