I have heard that it helps the other animals in the family to see the body of their deceased friend. I helps them understand that they are gone. Don't know how accurate that is, but it makes sense to me. I know it's not always possible.
Sorry to hear of your loss. It's amazing how attached we get to our pets. We still talk about our dog and cat 20 years gone.

Im not real good at playing God. Ive had to put a couple of ours down with them in my arms. I dont like it at all. I have 2 now that I know arent going to be easy. When they are gone Im not sure I will have anymore. Sorry for your loss I know how hard it was for me and Im sure you have the same feelings.

Wife wants to get some younger horses but they can live 25-30 years…we’re in our mid 60’s now so that ain’t gonna fly.
