Re: Here's strange one
I cut down a poison sumac sapling when I was a kid. It was hot and I wiped the sweat from my face with my hand after cutting it down. One eye swelled shut for a day or two. It was bad enough my Dad let Mom take me to the doctor. If you knew my Dad, you'd know how bad that must have been!

Re: Here's strange one
Back in my single parent days my 11 year old son was a Cub Scout in Northern Virginia. His troop had
an encampment on a mountainside and I drove him up and picked him up when it ended.
The next day his school called and said he was unable to keep his eyes open and I should come get him.
Turns out the boys had cut up some Poison Ivy vines and burned them in their camp fire. When we got to
our family doc almost his entire troop was there with their eyes swollen shut. One poor kid had changed
clothes by the fire and his entire body was inflamed. I think the doc gave them all a Cortisone shot.
My son hated needles so when he saw it coming he took off and we had to chase him down. We caught
up to him in the lab and I held him down while the doc gave him the shot. Then, back to school.
