Same here in Tennessee, but for those hunting in a county with CWD.
It opened on Halloween in these areas.

Good luck.

I don't hunt any longer, but don't have any problem with those ethical hunters who do. Enjoy your time in the woods, teach a young hunter so they can continue the tradition, and above all...be safe.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

I don't look back at the things I can no longer do, I just look forward to the things I still can.

Late buck is open here in Eastern Washington State but it’s only a couple of counties. I don’t hunt any longer but back in the day there was always a big migration of hunters from Western Washington over here for the hunt. Looking at the thermometer and seeing the snow on the ground makes me think, “it’s time to chuck another piece of firewood on the fire”. That’s more like it.

Yep...another season of hunters gathered on the sides of the road and hounds running the woods around the areas near my range property.

When I start plinking they move on and my place is Posted.

I miss hunting days. Deer leases got too expensive for me. I think I'd enjoy just sitting on a stand with a camera vs a rifle these days.

I used to hunt the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia every Fall. Loved it.
Now I'm old. I think it's a lot more fun to watch younger folks enjoy it. I allow several
to hunt our land and I also get them permission slips to follow wounded deer on to the
neighbors property as well. We usually get some deer sausage in return.

I don’t shoot anything with lips or lashes but if it flies it dies.

My friends came down. A younger couple with a young son. They came cause they wanted meat. The suppermarket meats are getting to expensive and they hoped to lay in some deer meat. Thankfully they did. The three of them shot four. A mega deer choppin up afternoon for them but they are happy! I gave the lityle boy an early chrusmas present, a single shot handi rifle that i bought in four different sates, refinished tge stock, put brasd trigger guard on... he was proud of his little rifle today. A sucessful season for me and i havent fired a shot.
