When I was in the service during the early 60's, yeah, I am THAT olde...when ever we went to a liquor store, they had these little booklets with recipes by the alcohol manufacturers. I used to pick them up and if I liked the recipe I would transfer to 3x5 cards to use someday later. I still have them. I just finished having a salmon steak with a little Riesling (a desert wine, but last bottle in the house until Tuesday, SS payday). Some of the recipes were rum soaked steaks, bourbon baked beans, bourbon chocolate fudge balls, etc. you get the picture.
So do any of you have some fave recipe where alcohol is not only desired, but required? ...and yes, I do imbibe in a little of any alcohol that sits on my counter while cookin'!!!
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.

I make a wicked pumpkin rum cake, it’s a favorite at family gatherings and holiday parties!

Not sure this classifies as a recipe, but some years ago, I bored about a 4" hole in a watermelon and stuck a qt of Vodka in there. took a full day to get in there. Cut that melon up and took it to a poker game. That watermelon went FAST! Seems like I made some rum infested cookies once for a company party.

That one is already in my recipe box. The trick is to put it in the fridge and hopefully the vodka will go in faster.Rifletom wrote: ↑Fri Aug 19, 2022 11:22 pmNot sure this classifies as a recipe, but some years ago, I bored about a 4" hole in a watermelon and stuck a qt of Vodka in there. took a full day to get in there.
