Must be the new math!

Post by fortyshooter » Tue Mar 29, 2022 12:01 pm

Bought a treated 8ft. 2X4 this morning....just one. A year or so ago it would have been 3 bucks with tax...today it was 10 bucks with tax.
That is what 300% more?? But the TV told me inflation was 4% !

I wish! Had some of the materials already on hand so wanted to get it done. This is like what happened to the cost of motor oil several years ago when it jumped in dollar amounts within 2 years.

Lumber and other building goods are out of sight. Our Legion is building an apartment complex and we've
had to pre order materials to prevent the stuff being too expensive for us to build.

Hang on tight, it's going to get worse. :(

Makes one wonder where all this extra money is really going, a 2X4 is still just a 2X4

Carol wants me to build another Bluebird house or two. Went out to get some 1x6 cedar today. They want $30.00 for one 1x6x8'.
Sorry, but that's crazy!

I need to re-do the snow break on one side of my shop which will require buying 12 2x6x10 pressure treated boards. I might see the bank for a loan first :o

Home Depot has a six month same as cash program available from time to time with a minimum purchase of $300. These dozen board just might hit the mark!
