Post by JEBar » Sun Oct 31, 2021 1:05 pm

any plans for Halloween ..?.. in 2020 it came and with with out notice .... this year our family is gathering at one of our son's home about 4PM to eat .... he has a new smoker and is doing is fixing his first brisket .... sunset is scheduled for 6:21 PM .... sometime after 5PM we're planning to move a few miles to another son's neighborhood where the kids will be going trick or treating .... I'll probably setup in the driveway to hand out candy .... with no idea how many kids will come by, we didn't buy as much a we have in past years .... looking forward to taking another step toward to getting back to normal

I usually put out decorations and give out lots of candy. This year I’m turning out the lights.

Dressing up, heading out. The Mikes are watching the Bears at my inlaws. Probably help with candy distribution.

Haven’t had a trick or treater in 17 years so yesterday we went to my wife’s cousin’s place in the town of Deer Park. They live in a nice neighborhood and the kids were packed on both sides of the street. We sat on the front porch next to a propane fire in a patio table and enjoyed a few adult beverages. We saw some pretty incredible costumes that took a lot of thought and work. It was fun and reminded me of living in the suburbs and having 300+ kids come to the door.

We live in a very small town but the city civic group had a trunk or treat for the kids, down on Main Street, we also had about 100 come to the door.

Kids stopped coming about a few years ago. Most of them go to church or civic venues. We just turn off lights and let the dogs not be bothered.
