Along with the Henry garden gun, I also have a 9mm Flobert single shot garden gun. It's beautifully finished and made in Italy by Chiappa. The cartridges are a bit hard to find, but fun to shoot.

I used it the other day to rid one of my equipment tarps of the freeloading field mice that had camped out under the biggest tarp all winter. I spread it out to give it some sun. At the end of the day, predictably, the mice emerged when I moved the tarp slightly. They were pretty big for field mice, but it probably made them easier to hit with the small gun. About 7 to ten yards away.

First the two culprits and then the garden gun with them. I placed the empty shells over each one. A solid brass rimfire shell with a cardboard disc over the end to keep everything in place.

Good looking pest control.

We’re you shooting the Flobert or Henry?

I assume the Flobert is a smooth bore as well ?

I shot the Flobert. I had #9 shot shells.

Yes, it is a smoothbore shotgun. It is really cool.

The Henry and the Flobert should take care of pests all around the barn and gardens. They make a .410 look like a howitzer in comparison to the task they were intended for. I have to decide if I am going to leave one in the barn or not. I'll probably leave the Henry out there in a case, unloaded. It's a pain to walk back and forth from the house with it.
The Flobert is a favorite to take on pasture walks so far.

Thanks. I had to read up on the round. I didn’t realize the 9 was a rimfire.

I found it interesting when researching after purchasing the gun. I found it interesting that it is safely fired in the large glass greenhouses in Europe.
It was a "find" at my favorite shop up north. I told them I would buy it if it was still there in the Spring a few years back as I made my final stop in the Fall.

When I read 9mm, I assumed cf.
Never even heard of a rim fire 9.
