I sure wish Henry made one of these. Boys and I are big into western style guns. Every collection needs a double barrel. I was in the market for a coach gun and I had looked at the Stoeger models a while back. Nothing fancy, was only missing a set of rabbit ears. By the time I had decided to go ahead with one of the walnut stocks, they disappeared from the shelves.

I ran into a 20ga Uplander 22” youth model yesterday and decided to get one. I have 3 boys 8-14. Looked like a decent one for them. The two older ones shoot trap and the middle boy uses a 20ga 870 youth. The older one uses it for deer hunting because it’s easier to maneuver in the tree stand with two people in it so it seemed like a good fit. Im sure I’ll shoot the crap out of it too until I find a 12ga coach version I want. The overall length should be just a about the same on this one as the 20” coach.

Should work just fine, congrats on the new scatter gun.
I do have a couple doubles, and one is an old rabbit eared 12 ga.

I have one side-by-side and two over-and-unders that I seldom (if ever) shoot and I'd love to have a 20 ga coach type shotgun with external hammers .... it too would probably be seldom fired but I'd sure like to have one

I got a Stoeger Coach Gun in 12g as a get well gift from the wife years ago after a major surgery. She knew I wanted one, and got the premium model. I've never fired it. It's well balanced, swings and points well, but by the time I recovered from the surgery she gave me the gift for, I had a shoulder surgery. Then we moved. It will get shot. Let us know how yours does...

Sold my Browning Citori skeet O/U a few years back. Wish I'd kept it because I could get about 1K more for it today. That's past history though. I also had a 16 ga Stevens S/S. Dad bought it for me to hunt quail with him. He didn't like hunting alone and my brother wasn't interested. I had it with me in Fort Worth and it got stolen from the rent house I was living in. That's the only thing they took but left the place a mess.

Congratulations on your side by side. It should be nice for the boys.

I enjoy the side by sides the most. I have a 20 ga external hammer sxs coach gun that I've shot the most. It's not a Stoeger and I can't remember the brand now. It's heavy and really controllable.

Good luck finding your Stoeger 12 gauge.

My brother gave me a Winchester 24 many years ago. Good, old fashioned double. I've dropped many birds with it. I still drool over a sweet o/u 20. My heavy old 12 gits er done tho.

As far as coach guns go, I have two. The Stoeger Premium as I mentioned before:


and a very old late 1800s Husqvarna Double Coach Gun... that is too cool for school.
It is still in shooting condition, though I don't shoot it. It hangs on the wall, or did in VA. Now it's in the closet until I decide where it goes.
Note the long lever at the FRONT of the forearm. Push that to the right and the barrels drop to load and unload. Unique lockup. Too Cool.

Yup, that Husqvarna. Before they became a name in chainsaws, they were known for quality Hunting/Sporting arms, including fully embellished shotguns and rifles...

Little brother has a Springfield Loaded. Its the reason I bought one. Probably be three weeks before I get mine. The Colt had to be special ordered. Lord only knows when that will come in. It could be months. Reviews look promising. I did a comparison video on a MAC ACII and a S&W E-Series last year. Might do another with these two. The Colt might be a better comparison with the new Springfield Garrison. I have a brand new Kimber Stainless II here as well I could use that's in 10mm.

These are the 3 other full size 1911 models I have here. I have a pair of the ACIIs, had a pair of the Kimbers but little brother clepto'd one of them. He had always wanted a Kimber 10mm. Had his eye on a Rapide but the price is just a little out of range at $1600.

Husqvarna made/makes some mighty fine dirt bikes also. Now that Husky pictured above, looks like a kicker! Very neat shotgun.

Speaking of which: I've been looking at CZ Bobwhites, but, won't pay the price fom Gunbroker, the only place I've found them available. Turned my attention to those Stoeger Uplander 20ga with 26/28" barrels. Those look good to me and reviews are positive. Have a couple places fairly close I can get my hands on one to check. Fingers crossed here.

I got that Stoeger coach a while back. I have been a busy boy with lots of projects going on. I still haven’t shot it yet but my range is ready for action and the weather is clearing up a bit. Soon.. I’ll update with pictures and review.

Probably spend some time this weekend creating new threads and updating some old ones. I bought close to $20k in guns in the last 4 months and a lot of them are probably of interest to the Henry crowd, including a 1911 review that went on like a runaway train (5 from Kimber and 5 from Springfield Armory). Yes, I spent $10k just on that review. Some guns I bought, like two Cimarron Bad Boys and a Stoeger Condor Supreme are still coming in.

I've had Stoeger Coach guns and CZ Coach Guns (Huglu) Stoeger without hammers. The CZ with Hammers. For me I much prefer the Coach Guns without external hammers. Love the CZ Sharptail.

I only own two doubles, both 12 ga., the first is an old Beretta OU hammerless.
The other is an old J Stevens sxs, with exposed hammers.
Have hunted and killed pheasant with both.
