Asked about it, it was a Savage Axis in 223, nothing special, but at that price I couldn't pass it up.
The funny part of the story was,
I was on the scooter when I saw the rifle, and had agreed to buy it.
Then just about the time she was asking about my license, I realized I was on the bike.
Told her I'd run home and get the truck and come back.
She put it to the side and said it'll be here when you come back. And it was.
So I brought it home and slapped this old Tasco I've had forever on it, and been on a half dozen different rifles.
Boresighted, took it on the back deck and rang the big going a few times. BigAl's favorite.
Brought it back in, ran the boresnake down her.
Loaded up and went down to the pasture.
First shot a little left, another slight adjustment and not to bad, that's a one inch dot.
100 yds. with a 62 gr hp Wolf ammo, and a 5,6 lbs trigger.
Was going to try some other weight bullets, but I had left the ears at home.
Between this being a LOUD little round and the bugs trying to eat me alive,
I called it good enough for the first day.
Gonna do a little trigger work on it see about getting it a little lighter.
