I have seen the carbine version but this is the first little trapper I have seen in the 1860.

There was a test carbine in 1864 that was not accepted by the army. It had a weird forward loading tube magazine, not the spring loaded tab like the regular ones.

Don't think I've ever seen one.
DixieGW is about a hour north of here.

Holds 7 rounds it says. That would be a very compact little 1860 rifle.
Would love to see Dixie Gunworks....we have nothing like that here.

RR, the place is a Museum, more smoke poles than you'll see in one spot.
Also on one side there is a small car museum.

More than the J. M. Davis Arms & Historical Museum ?

That Henry carbine almost had me pulling the trigger! But then another caliber to load.
My High Wall .45-70 pictured next to it.

Order their paper catalog.... I used to get them pre- Internet and they were amazing then. Maybe somebody with a recent copy could comment on if it is worth the $5. Sometimes it is nice to just pick up a catalog off the table and thumb through it.
