My other rifle amongst several is a Ruger Gunsite Scout in .308. I liked that it was light, short, but still could reach out and "touch someone".
I did update it though. I thought the OEM rear ghost sight aperture was too small for these old eyes, so I got a XS long (extended) rail with a rear ghost ring that had a larger aperture. Now I could see through the damn thing!!! This also enables me to place a scope over the receiver (my poor eyesight, remember). One other update I got was a Yankee Hill Flash Hider Phantom 5C2 for the .308. Not that I am planning on breeching any doors or impaling any zombies, it just looks badass!!!
I took it out to the Carson City Range and found it surprisingly accurate with just the iron sights. I have been lucky that way, in all my firearms (usually all NIB) have come that way. I only have the OEM 10 rd. mag, but plan on getting a couple of the others...3rd and 5rd.
Sorry, no pics, but they are too big to post. Hopefully admin will solve that problem!!!
Site seems to be OK. Load issue should be resolved now.
