Yesterday I added a new BLR Monte Carlo 30.06,22" barrel to my lever action rifles.

congrats indeed .... I'm really looking forward to hearing your future reports .... we have a early edition, Belgium made BLR 308 .... it is an outstanding rifle

I think i'm going to go Red Dot,haven't really made up my mind right now.

Your call, of course, but as someone who uses a lot of both scopes and red dots, I'd go with a low power scope, something like a Leupold Freedom 1.5-4x, especially if you plan to use that Browning for hunting. A scope will let you see back in the shadows in a way a red dot never will and you're not relying on a battery with a scope. Nothing to turn on or off or adjust brightness settings with a scope. More precise aiming point with a scope, too. At 1.5x, such a scope will be practically the same as a red dot as far as ease of use, but you still have the option of 4x for those long shots and a 30-06 is certainly capable of shooting at great distances. Finally, that Leupold Freedom won't cost you any more than a good red dot like a Burris Fastfire or Ultradot (and I would not put a cheap red dot on any 30-06).

agree with NCG on going with a scope .... I have found red dots do well at close range but not at mid to longer ranges .... on 308's and 30-06's we use 3X9 or 4X12 Nikon scopes

The only advantage to a red dot is it is faster to get on target. They were designed for the military and putting a round in a man sized target at different distances and angles as quickly as possible.
