A friend brought this rifle to me to have all the dried grease removed from it. It has been in the box since new maybe 10 years ago? I am not sure just how old it is but it has been a while. It is one of 222 Remington 700's made in 222 Remington and the last of Remington built rifles chambered in 222 Remington. Very pretty rifle he is thinking about selling as he is getting up in years and is thinning down his collection. I would like to have it but I would shoot it so it is better to go in a collection and remain unfired. I can't hardly see me laying on the ground shooting this off a bipod at ground hogs and scratching the toe on the stock all up. Here is a few pictures to share with my fellow members of a rare piece.

Also has engraved floor plate but my camera went dead so no picture.

Bandit, you're right! It's a trophy rifle! Thanks for the backstory and the pictures.

It is beautiful, and for some collector it would be nice to look at. But I couldn't own a gun I couldn't shoot. Unless it was once owned by Teddy Roosevelt or Wild Bill Hickok. But then again being able to say I shot ....really famous person's name here's...gun would be hard to resist.
