I recently became aware of a Cimarron Model 71 45-70 Hogzilla Killa rifle ---
http://www.cimarron-firearms.com/produc ... ifles.html .... after watching an interesting video about it ---
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fAaYRHTDEeI --- and doing a good bit of reading, I know that I wouldn't trade our Henry 45-70 for one .... that said, I have been intrigued by a couple of its features .... it is high dollar rifle that is patterned after the Winchester Model 71 .... as such it has a lever action with side loading port and a top ejection .... their Hogzilla Killa model comes with a Picatinny Rail mounted on the barrel .... on the rail they mount a traditional rear sight or optional receiver peep sight .... its reported in the video above that the stock sight is set for up to 50 yards .... he Picatinny Rail allows you to mount an extended eye relief scope so you can have a scope on a top ejection rifle .... to me that was really unique .... I also like the way the sling swivel is mounted in the stock .... as noted, it does have some interesting features but I'd still rather have our Henry

I like a scant buttstock or one with no pistol grip at all.

I had a Winchester 71 for many years. You will have to go a long way to find an action as smooth.

Those look like nice rifles. MSRP is pretty fancy. Wonder what they retail for?

Really shortens the sight radius with the iron sights on the rail, huh?
Doesn't seem to be bothering the shooter in the video, though..................
Never shot one, but never really attracted to any of these "Hog" rifles so far.
That Classic 24 looks beautiful.

Normally, I do, too, but NOT on something with that kind of recoil. That thick buttpad and pistol grip are all to the good I was to shoot one.
Did a little research. The gun is made by Pedersoli (have owned some of their black powder guns), which means it's a quality gun and it is also made in a full size 24" barrel version. Also means it's an expensive rifle, well north of a thou in price.
