Looks like they all trying to squeeze in new lever guns.

Looks similar to the Henry other than it's a takedown.

Specs say Grade 1 wood, does that imply that nicer versions might be offered? I do like the takedown feature a lot.

Yeah, I'm a bit surprised at all the new lever guns, too.
The Ranger series has usually been Winchester's budget grade line so I have my doubts as to seeing higher grades, but who knows? At that price, though, pretty sure it is NOT being made by Miroku. The Browning BL-22 Grade I, the plane Jane version, is made by Miroku and it costs twice that price.
At the Rangers price point, I think Henry is going to have some competition.

What NCG said. Looking at the specs, the Ranger is impressive, especially at that price point[MSRP].
Street price, I'm sure will be better. And, its 2 lb lighter than my 39A!!!!!

If Miroku is not making it, I'm wondering who is?

Just a guess at this point, but Chiappa makes a roughly similar 22 lever gun at the same price point. Huglu (Turkey) might be another possibility. Could be Miroku if they contracted it outside of Japan, say Malaysia or the Philippines. Be awfully cheap for Japanese manufacturing, though. If it is Miroku, Japan, it would have to be stamped Japan somewhere by Japanese law. Time will tell.

Take down or not - I would still choose an American made Henry H001 any day.

It’s made in Turkey along side of the Winchester Wildcat.

My H001 is flawless. Couldn't be any more satisfied with it. And right, American made.

Web site says it has a 13” lop. Seems kinda short. I have never owned a Winchester .22 lever. What was the original length lop?

There’s a 9422 Deluxe for sale here locally that sure is attractive. But at a grand I don’t see it doing anything that my Marlin 39-A will do so I’m listening to my head not my heart. I’ve always wanted a 9422 XTR due to how beautiful they are.

I've heard similar remarks about the H001 and kinda agree, even though I own and like the one I have.
Just looking at pics to me they seem very similar to the Henry.
A real live look at one ma change my mind.
